St. Benedict Center around 1957, when it was St. Benedict Grade School

On 15 August 1978, Bishop Michael Begley dedicated the St. Benedict Center at Queen of Apostles Parish in Belmont. The newly renovated building once housed St. Benedict Grammar School which was staffed by the Sisters of Mercy and served primarily African-American students. The St. Benedict Center was used as the parish hall and for religious education classes.
