The annual diocesan collection to fund the priests' retirement and benefits plans will be taken in all parishes on the weekend of September 11, 2011. The collection is an opportunity to show appreciation for the many years of service our priests have given. The goal for this collection for 2011-2012 is $1,494,000. Each parish is assessed 3.5% of their annual offertory collection to raise the funds needed to support priests retirement and benefits.

Your contributions help fund:

• the retirement benefits and health plan for our 23 retired diocesan priests
• pension contribution for our 78 diocesan priests who are currently involved in active ministry
• contributions to the retirement funds of the 30 priests representing eight different religious orders serving in our diocese
